Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

Apply protective tape around the fuel filler opening lid assembly as shown in the illustration.
Remove the fuel inlet box ring as shown in the illustration.

While pushing the fuel tank filler pipe shield assembly into the vehicle, disconnect the fuel tank filler pipe shield assembly from the No. 3 fuel tank filler pipe shield as shown in the illustration.
w/ Urea SCR System:
Use the same procedure to disconnect the fuel tank filler pipe shield assembly.
Using a 4 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the 7 screws.

Pull the No. 3 fuel tank filler pipe shield in the direction of the arrow shown in the illustration and remove it together with the fuel lid lock control cable sub-assembly.
Pull the fuel lid lock control cable sub-assembly out of the vehicle.
