SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY(for Rear Side) INSTALLATION

Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE

Hide Display 62180E 1.INSTALL REAR CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH (for Van)

When reusing the rear curtain shield airbag assembly LH:

CAUTION:: Do not reuse the clip and roof side inner garnish clip.

*3	Roof Side Inner Garnish Clip	-	-

Attach the claw to install a new clip and curtain shield airbag clip spacer.

NOTICE:: Do not push the pin and lock the clip at this time.

ii.

Attach the claw to install 3 new clips and new roof side inner garnish clip.

NOTICE:: Do not push the pin and lock the clip at this time.

HINT:: The roof side inner garnish clip is longer than the clip.

Check that the ignition switch is off.

Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:: ·

Do not begin this procedure within 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

·

If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

Install the rear curtain shield airbag assembly LH inflator in the following order.

5.385,2.979 5.51,3.167 0.125,0.188 10 true 1 4.667,3 4.792,3.188 0.125,0.188 10 true 2 2.031,3 2.156,3.188 0.125,0.188 10 true 3

Attach the hook to set the rear curtain shield airbag assembly LH inflator.

ii.

Temporarily install 2 new bolts.

iii.

Temporarily install the rear side of the rear curtain shield airbag assembly LH deployment portion with a new bolt.

iv.

Tighten the 3 bolts order shown in the illustration.

Torque:: 9.8 N*m (100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf)

Install the rear curtain shield airbag assembly LH deployment portion in the following order.

2.135,1.552 2.323,1.74 0.188,0.188 10 true *1

*1	Roof Side Inner Garnish Clip	-	-
	Push in this Direction	-	-

Attach the claw to install the rear curtain shield airbag assembly LH deployment portion with the 4 clips and roof side inner garnish clip.

NOTICE:: Do not push the pin and lock the clip at this time.

ii.

Check that there is no twisting in the rear curtain shield airbag assembly LH deployment portion.

iii.

Push the 5 pins to lock the 4 clips and roof side inner garnish clip.

CAUTION:: Make sure that the pins of the clips are pushed in firmly.

Lightly pull on the 4 clips and roof side inner garnish clip to check whether it is locked.

Connect the airbag connector.

NOTICE:: ·

When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

·

Make sure the lock button is securely locked.

Perform this procedure only when necessary.

Install the curtain shield airbag clip spacer as shown in the illustration.

ii.

Attach the claw of a new clip and a new curtain shield airbag clip spacer.

CAUTION:: Do not reuse the clip and roof side inner garnish clip.

NOTICE:: Make sure that the roof side inner garnish clip is securely inserted into the curtain shield airbag clip spacer.

HINT:: The roof side inner garnish clip is longer than the clip.

Push the 2 pins to lock the clip and roof side inner garnish clip.

NOTICE:: ·

Do not damage the pins.

·

Make sure that the pins of the clips are pushed in firmly.

When reusing the rear curtain shield airbag assembly LH:

CAUTION:: Do not reuse the clip.

Attach the claw to install 7 new clip and curtain shield airbag clip spacer.

NOTICE:: Do not push the pin and lock the clip at this time.

Curtain Shield Airbag Clip Spacer

Check that the ignition switch is off.

Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

Attach the 5 hooks to temporarily install the rear curtain shield airbag assembly LH.

NOTICE:: Do not twist the rear curtain shield airbag assembly LH when installing it.

Attach the clip.

Install 9 new bolts.

Torque:: 9.8 N*m (100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf)

Install the rear curtain shield airbag assembly LH with 6 new clips.

HINT:: Attach the claw to install each new clip.
