DESCRIPTION

If the telematics transceiver detects an error in communication between the telematics transceiver and the airbag sensor with ECU assembly as a result of the telematics transceiver self check, this DTC will be set.

Before replacing the telematics transceiver, refer to Service Bulletin.

The vehicle is equipped with an SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) which includes components such as airbags. Before servicing (including removal or installation of parts), be sure to read the Precaution in the SRS.

After the engine switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

HINT:

When disconnecting and reconnecting the auxiliary battery, there is an automatic learning function that completes learning when the respective system is used.

PROCEDURE

1.CHECK DTC (AIRBAG SYSTEM)
a.

Turn the engine switch off.


b.

Connect the GTS to the DLC3.


c.

Turn the engine switch to on (IG) and wait for 60 seconds.


d.

Turn the GTS on.


e.

Clear the DTCs. (for 10.25 Inch Display)

Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Clear DTCs

f.

Clear the DTCs. (except 10.25 Inch Display)

Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Clear DTCs

g.

Check for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output. (for 10.25 Inch Display)

Check the signal waveform according to the condition(s) in the table below. (Check the waveform from the back of the wire harness connector of the telematics transceiver while the airbag sensor with ECU assembly connectors are connected.)

Disconnect the I72 telematics transceiver connector.


b.

Disconnect the I205 airbag sensor with ECU assembly connector.



c.

Disconnect the I47 airbag sensor with ECU assembly connector.



d.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
