The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the rear floor side airbag sensor removal/installation are shown below.

Hide 89839A 17.REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR COVER

Remove the rear floor side airbag sensor cover.

NOTICE:

If the rear floor side airbag sensor cover is removed, do not reuse it.

a.

Check that the ignition switch is off.


b.

Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
·

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

·

If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.




c.

Disconnect the airbag connector.

NOTICE:

When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

Remove the bolt.

NOTICE:
·

Loosen the bolt while holding the rear floor side airbag sensor because the rear floor side airbag sensor guide is easily damaged.

·

If the rear floor side airbag sensor has been dropped, replace it with a new one.




e.

Detach the guide to remove the rear floor side airbag sensor.

NOTICE:

If the clip is removed, do not reuse it.


HINT:

Perform this procedure only when replacement of the clip is necessary.
