The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during No. 2 side airbag sensor or No. 4 side airbag sensor removal/installation are shown below.

Hide 2.DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL


CAUTION:

·

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

·

If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

Remove the rear side of the No. 1 slide door weatherstrip LH so that the rear quarter trim board assembly LH can be removed.

Hide 89831C 14.REMOVE NO. 2 SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR

a.

Check that the ignition switch is off.


b.

Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
·

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

·

If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.




c.

Disconnect the airbag connector.

NOTICE:

When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.


HINT:

Refer to How to Connect or Disconnect Airbag Connector:




d.

for Van:

i.

Remove the bolt.

NOTICE:
·

Loosen the bolt while holding the No. 2 side airbag sensor because the No. 2 side airbag sensor claw is easily damaged.

·

If the No. 2 side airbag sensor has been dropped, replace it with a new one.




ii.

Detach the claw and remove the No. 2 side airbag sensor.

for Wagon:

i.

Remove the bolt.

NOTICE:
·

Loosen the bolt while holding the No. 2 side airbag sensor because the No. 2 side airbag sensor guide is easily damaged.

·

If the No. 2 side airbag sensor has been dropped, replace it with a new one.




ii.

Detach the guide and remove the No. 2 side airbag sensor.



Hide 89831J 15.REMOVE NO. 4 SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR (for Wagon)

a.

Check that the ignition switch is off.


b.

Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
·

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

·

If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.




c.

Disconnect the airbag connector.

NOTICE:

When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

NOTICE:

Loosen the bolt while holding the No. 4 side airbag sensor because the No. 4 side airbag sensor guide is easily damaged.

·

If the No. 4 side airbag sensor has been dropped, replace it with a new one.




e.

Detach the guide to remove the No. 4 side airbag sensor.
