MIRROR (EXT)  POWER MIRROR CONTROL SYSTEM  Mirror Heater does not Operate with Rear Defogger Switch

DESCRIPTION

The air conditioning amplifier assembly detects the condition of the window defogger switch (mirror heater switch) in the air conditioning control assembly via LIN communication.

When the window defogger switch (mirror heater switch) is on, the air conditioning amplifier assembly sends the mirror heater drive command signal to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) via CAN communication.

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) sends the received mirror heater drive command signal to the power distribution box assembly via CXPI communication.

When the mirror heater drive command signal is received, the power distribution box assembly operates the mirror heater.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:
·

If the mirror heater is operated when the auxiliary battery voltage is low, due to the electrical load limit control that gives voltage supply priority to the power steering system, the mirror heater may not operate. In this case, check the vehicle control history of the power steering system and check that "Battery Voltage Drop: X208F" is not stored before proceeding with troubleshooting.

Click hereSteering>POWER ASSIST SYSTEMS>POWER STEERING SYSTEM>VEHICLE CONTROL HISTORY

·

With the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal connected, disconnect/do not connect the connector of the power distribution box assembly.

·

When replacing the power distribution box assembly, the system may not operate normally if the same part number is not used.

·

The power mirror control system uses the CAN communication system, LIN communication system and CXPI communication system. Inspect the communication function by following How to Proceed with Troubleshooting. Troubleshoot the power mirror control system after confirming that the communication system is functioning properly.
