DESCRIPTION

The headlight ECU sub-assembly RH controls the headlight cleaner motor and pump assembly.

PROCEDURE

1.PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (HEADLIGHT CLEANER)
a.

Connect the GTS to the DLC3.


b.

Turn the ignition switch to ON.


c.

Turn the GTS on.


d.

Enter following menus: Body Electrical / HL AutoLeveling (Sub) / Active Test.


e.

Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

a.

Connect the GTS to the DLC3.


b.

Turn the ignition switch to ON.


c.

Turn the GTS on.


d.

Enter following menus: Body Electrical / HL AutoLeveling (Sub) / Data List.


e.

Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

REPLACE HEADLIGHT CLEANER CONTROL RELAY (H-LP CLN)

5.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT CLEANER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY - HEADLIGHT CLEANER CONTROL RELAY [H-LP CLN] AND BODY GROUND)
a.

Disconnect the A53 headlight cleaner motor and pump assembly connector.


b.

Remove the headlight cleaner control relay (H-LP CLN) from the No. 1 engine room relay block assembly.


c.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
A53-2 (B) - Headlight cleaner control relay (H-LP CLN) terminal 5 Always Below 1 Ω
A53-1 (L) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
A53-2 (B) or Headlight cleaner control relay (H-LP CLN) terminal 5 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

6.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT CLEANER CONTROL RELAY [H-LP CLN] - HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH, BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)
a.

Remove the headlight cleaner control relay (H-LP CLN) from the No. 1 engine room relay block assembly.


b.

Disconnect the A55 headlight ECU sub-assembly RH connector.


c.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
Headlight cleaner control relay (H-LP CLN) terminal 2 - A55-7 (HLC) Always Below 1 Ω
Headlight cleaner control relay (H-LP CLN) terminal 2 or A55-7 (HLC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher



d.

Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
Headlight cleaner control relay (H-LP CLN) terminal 1 - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 V
Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
Headlight cleaner control relay (H-LP CLN) terminal 3 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
