AXLE AND DIFFERENTIAL  REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY(for Type A)  INSTALLATION  


PROCEDURE

Hide 41110 1.INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY

a.

Clean the contact surfaces of the rear differential carrier assembly and rear axle housing.


b.

Install the rear differential carrier assembly and a new rear differential carrier gasket with the 10 nuts and 10 washers.

Torque:
72 N*m (734 kgf*cm, 53 ft.*lbf)

CAUTION:

The rear differential carrier assembly is a heavy component. Make sure that it is supported securely.


NOTICE:
·

Do not damage the installation surface when installing the rear differential carrier assembly.

·

The remaining oil may leak out when installing the rear differential carrier assembly.

·

Securely support the rear differential carrier assembly while performing this step to avoid excessively tilting or dropping the rear differential carrier assembly.

·

Install the bolts with the rear differential carrier assembly secured.




Hide 41196 2.INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL DYNAMIC DAMPER

a.

Install the rear differential dynamic damper to the rear differential carrier assembly with 2 new bolts.

Torque:
38 N*m (387 kgf*cm, 28 ft.*lbf)

NOTICE:

Keep the rear differential dynamic damper free of oil and foreign matter.

Use the same procedure described for the LH side.
