DESCRIPTION

Based on the engine speed and throttle opening angle information from the ECM, the acoustic control induction system controls the intake air control valve actuator. In order to change the effective length of the air control valve actuator opens and closes. As a result, the low-to-medium speed range torque and high rpm range performance are improved.

Read freeze frame data using the GTS. The ECM records vehicle and driving condition information as freeze frame data the moment a DTC is stored. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.


PROCEDURE

1.PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (ACTIVATE THE VSV FOR INTAKE CONTROL)

2.INSPECT INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE ACTUATOR
2.INSPECT INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE ACTUATOR

3.CHECK HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE ACTUATOR - ECM)

NG

3.CHECK HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE ACTUATOR - ECM)
a.

Disconnect the intake air control valve actuator connector.


b.

Disconnect the ECM connector.


c.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
E65-2 (+B) - N1-2 (ASM+) Always Below 1 Ω
E65-1 (ACIS) - N1-1 (ASM-) Always Below 1 Ω
E65-2 (+B) or N1-2 (ASM+) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
