DTC will be output when conditions for either of the patterns in the table above are met.
When the 4WD ECU assembly is replaced, before removing the 4WD ECU assembly, it is necessary to perform ECU Data Save to save the original 4WD ECU assembly information.
After performing repairs, clear the DTCs and check that the DTCs are not output again.
Turn the engine switch off.
Remove the No. 1 4 wheel drive position switch.
Connect 3 1.5 V dry batteries in series.

(No. 1 4 wheel drive position switch) |
| *c | Piece of metal |
Connect terminal 1 (TVCF) to the batteries positive (+) terminal, and terminal 3 (TEF) to the batteries negative (-) terminal.
Move a piece of metal close to the edge of the No. 1 4 wheel drive position switch, and then move it away and check that the resistance changes.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
| Tester Connection | Condition | Specified Condition |
|---|---|---|
| 2 (TNF) - 3 (TEF) | Low (Move piece of metal away) | 150 to 620 Ω |
| 2 (TNF) - 3 (TEF) | High (Move piece of metal closer) | 1.1 to 6.2 kΩ |
