CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the No. 2 side airbag sensor assembly removal/installation are shown below.

HINT:

When the cable is disconnected/reconnected to the auxiliary battery terminal, systems temporarily stop operating. However, each system has a function that completes learning the first time the system is used.

Necessary Procedure After Parts Removed/Installed/Replaced (for HV Model)

Lane tracing assist system Drive the vehicle straight ahead at 35 km/h (22 mph) or more for 5 second or more. (Click here)

Power back door function Fully close the back door by hand.
HINT:

Initialization is not necessary if the above procedures are performed while the back door is closed.

Air conditioning system After the ignition switch is turned to ON, the servo motor standard position is recognized -

Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

Remove the rear side of the rear door opening trim weatherstrip LH so that the rear seat side garnish LH can be removed.

Hide 89860C 8.REMOVE NO. 2 SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

a.

Check that the ignition switch off.


b.

Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

CAUTION:
·

Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

·

If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

Remove the bolt and detach the claw to separate the No. 2 side airbag sensor assembly.


d.

Detach the claw and remove the No. 2 side airbag sensor assembly.


e.

Disconnect the airbag connector to remove the No. 2 side airbag sensor assembly.

NOTICE:

When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
