The side airbag pressure sensor LH and side airbag pressure sensor RH detect impacts to the vehicle through changes in pressure inside the front doors caused by deformation of the outer side of the front doors and send signals to the airbag sensor assembly.
Based on the signals sent by the side airbag pressure sensor, the airbag sensor assembly determines if the SRS should be deployed.
If the difference between the pressure detected by the side airbag pressure sensor LH and the pressure detected by the side airbag pressure sensor RH exceeds a certain value a certain number of times, the airbag sensor assembly will output DTC B166A.

After the engine switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the negative (-) battery terminal.
When disconnecting and reconnecting the battery
When disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, there is an automatic learning function that completes learning when the respective system is used.
After replacing the airbag sensor assembly, refer to initialization.
Check for DTCs.
DTCs B166D, B166E, B167B and B167C are not output.
If B166D, B166E, B167B and B167C is output, perform troubleshooting for the DTC first.

Turn the engine switch off.
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
Replace the side airbag pressure sensor LH with a known good one.
Perform the following inspection using known good parts from another vehicle if possible.
When using a new part, since the side airbag pressure sensor LH and RH have the same part number, prepare either one.
A prepared side airbag pressure sensor can also be used for the side airbag pressure sensor RH inspection.
Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
Turn the engine switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
Clear the DTCs stored in memory.
