Check that the ignition switch is off.

Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:: ·

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

Disconnect the airbag connector.

NOTICE:: When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

Remove the bolt.

NOTICE:: ·

Loosen the bolt while holding the No. 3 side airbag sensor because the No. 3 side airbag sensor claw is easily damaged.

·

If the No. 3 side airbag sensor has been dropped, replace it with a new one.

ii.

Detach the claw to remove the No. 3 side airbag sensor.

NOTICE:: If the No. 3 side airbag sensor has been dropped, replace it with a new one.

for Wagon:

Remove the bolt.

NOTICE:: ·

Loosen the bolt while holding the No. 3 side airbag sensor because the No. 3 side airbag sensor guide is easily damaged.

·

If the No. 3 side airbag sensor has been dropped, replace it with a new one.

ii.

Detach the guide to remove the No. 3 side airbag sensor.

NOTICE:: If the No. 3 side airbag sensor has been dropped, replace it with a new one.

HINT:: Perform this procedure only when replacement of the clip is necessary.

Detach claw and remove the clip.
