HEATING / AIR CONDITIONING  AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM(for Automatic Air Conditioning System)  Viscous Heater with Magnet Clutch Circuit  


DESCRIPTION

When the heater switch assembly is pushed, the air conditioning amplifier assembly turns on the viscous heater relay and operates the viscous heater. If the viscous heater does not operate when the heater switch assembly is pushed, there may be a problem in the circuit shown below.

PROCEDURE

1.READ VALUE USING GTS (IDLE UP/PWR HEAT SWITCH)
a.

Connect the GTS to the DLC3.


b.

Turn the ignition switch to ON.


c.

Turn the GTS on.


d.

Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Data List.


e.

Check the value(s) by referring to the table below.

Disconnect the E98 viscous heater with magnet clutch assembly connector.


c.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
Terminal 3 - E98-1 Always Below 1 Ω
Terminal 3 or E98-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher



d.

Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

Terminal 2 - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 V
Terminal 2 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
