DESCRIPTION

When the windshield washer motor and pump assembly receives signals from the windshield wiper switch assembly, it operates to spray washer fluid from the washer nozzle.

NOTICE:

Inspect the fuse of circuits related to this system before performing the following procedure.


PROCEDURE

1.PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (WASHER RELAY)
a.

Connect the GTS to the DLC3.


b.

Turn the ignition switch to ON.


c.

Turn the GTS on.


d.

Enter following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.


e.

Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

b.

Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
N67-6 (IGWS) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V



c.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
N67-5 (EWS) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

4.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WINDSHIELD WIPER RELAY ASSEMBLY - WINDSHIELD WASHER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY)
a.

Disconnect the N67 windshield wiper relay assembly connector.


b.

Disconnect the A25 windshield washer motor and pump assembly connector.


c.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
N67-1 (+WR) - A25-1 Always Below 1 Ω
N67-7 (-WR) - A25-2 Always Below 1 Ω
N67-1 (+WR) or A25-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
N67-7 (-WR) or A25-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
