1. PRECAUTION
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing.
After the ignition switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

When storing the curtain shield airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.
When removing the curtain shield airbag assembly, have assistants hold it to prevent it from bending.
Check that the ignition switch is off.
Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
Disconnect the airbag connector.
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
Refer to How to Connect or Disconnect Airbag Connector.
Using a needle-nose pliers No. 2 or equivalent, remove the 4 pins from the 3 clips (A) and roof side inner garnish clip.
Using 2 thin screwdrivers, disengage the 2 claws of the 3 clips (A) and roof side inner garnish clip, and separate the 3 clips (A) and roof side inner garnish clip from the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.
Separate the 3 clips (A), roof side inner garnish clip and curtain shield airbag assembly from the vehicle body as a unit.
Remove the 4 bolts.

While holding the curtain shield airbag assembly, disengage the 5 clips and 3 hooks to remove the curtain shield airbag assembly.
Remove the 3 clips (A), roof side inner garnish clip and the spacer from the curtain shield airbag assembly.
