Fully apply the parking brake and chock a wheel.

Make sure to apply the parking brake and chock a wheel before performing this procedure.

·

If the vehicle is not secure and the shift lever is moved to N, the vehicle may suddenly move, possibly resulting in an accident or serious injury.

Move the shift lever to N.

Disconnect in this Direction

Disconnect the floor shift transmission control select cable from the transmission floor shift assembly.

Stopper

Using a screwdriver, pull out the stopper of the floor shift transmission control select cable.

NOTICE:

Do not remove the stopper. If it is removed, reinstall it to its original position.

	Disconnect in this Direction

Rotate the nut counterclockwise approximately 180° and, while holding the nut in that position, disconnect the floor shift transmission control select cable from the transmission floor shift assembly.

NOTICE:

·

Do not rotate the nut excessively as the interior spring may come off and the floor shift transmission control select cable will not be reusable.

·

Do not forcibly pull the floor shift transmission control select cable into the cabin.

Push the 2 claws together at the top of the lock piece. While holding the 2 claws together, push the 2 lugs on the bottom of the lock piece toward each other and upward to push up the lock piece.

Turn the nut of the floor shift transmission control select cable 180° counterclockwise. While holding the nut in place, push in the stopper until it clicks twice.

Connect the floor shift transmission control select cable to the transmission floor shift assembly. Check that the spring is positioned at "A" and push in the stopper.

Connect the floor shift transmission control select cable to the transmission floor shift assembly.

NOTICE:

·

Connect the floor shift transmission control select cable all the way to the base of the pin.

·

Connect the floor shift transmission control select cable so that its adjustment lock section is on the driver side.

·

Check that the lock piece is pulled up.

When pushing in the lock piece of the adjuster case to lock it, remove your hand from the lever shaft.

When pushing in the lock piece of the adjuster case to lock it, do not move the lever shaft or floor shift transmission control select cable forward or backward.
