After replacing the ECM, make sure to perform vehicle identification number (VIN) or frame number registration and update ECU security key.
After performing the vehicle identification number (VIN) or frame number registration and update ECU security key procedure, make sure to perform the initialization procedure for when the cable has been disconnected and reconnected to the negative (-) battery terminal.

1.INSTALL NO. 2 ECM BRACKET
Install the No. 2 ECM bracket to the ECM with the 2 screws.

Install the No. 1 ECM bracket to the ECM with the 2 screws.

3.INSTALL ECM
Install the ECM with the 2 bolts and nut.
If the ECM has been struck or dropped, replace it.
Connect the 2 ECM connectors and rotate the 2 levers to lock them.
When connecting the ECM connectors, make sure that the connecting parts of the ECM connectors are free of dirt, water and other foreign matter.
Be sure to securely connect the ECM connectors.

Before replacing the ECM, store the volumes of accumulated ash (metal oxide) and PM (Particulate Matter). After replacing the ECM, write the volumes of accumulated ash and PM to the new ECM.
12. INITIALIZATION AFTER RECONNECTING BATTERY TERMINAL
When disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, there is an automatic learning function that completes learning when the respective system is used.
