The forward recognition camera receives vehicle information from the ECM via CAN communication.
If the vehicle information stored in the forward recognition camera differs from that sent from the ECM, the forward recognition camera stores this DTC.

When replacing the forward recognition camera, always replace it with a new one. If a forward recognition camera which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the forward recognition camera will not match the information from the vehicle and a DTC may be stored.
If the forward recognition camera has been replaced with a new one, forward recognition camera adjustment must be performed.
Forward recognition camera adjustment can be performed by using either One Time Recognition or Sequential Recognition.

Using the GTS, check for SFI system DTCs.

Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: System Select / Health Check.
Check DTCs.
Turn the ignition switch off.
DTCs indicating a vehicle information mismatch with the ECM are not output by any ECU other than the forward recognition camera.

Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Pre-Collision System / Data List.
Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

If the vehicle information stored in the forward recognition camera is different than the actual vehicle specifications, the vehicle information stored in the forward recognition camera may be incorrect. Check for DTCs and replace the forward recognition camera if necessary.
If the vehicle information stored in the forward recognition camera matches the actual vehicle specifications, the installed ECM is incompatible. Replace the ECM with a correct one.
