8ZR-FXE FUEL  FUEL TANK  INSTALLATION  


PROCEDURE

Hide 77404 1.INSTALL FUEL TANK VENT HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

a.

Engage the 2 clamps to install the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly to the fuel tank assembly.


Hide 77209F 2.INSTALL FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

a.

Engage the 3 clamps to install the fuel tank main tube sub-assembly to the fuel tank assembly.


Hide 77100 3.INSTALL FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY

CAUTION:
A344817

The fuel tank assembly is very heavy. Be sure to follow the procedure described in the repair manual, or the fuel tank assembly may fall off the engine lifter.


a.

Set the fuel tank assembly on an engine lifter.

NOTICE:

Using height adjustment attachments and plate lift attachments, keep the fuel tank assembly horizontal.



b.

Using the engine lifter, slowly raise the fuel tank assembly, and then temporarily install the fuel tank assembly with the 4 bolts.

NOTICE:

When installing the fuel tank assembly, tilt it slightly to prevent it from interfering with the surrounding parts.

Tighten the bolt (A).

Torque:
45 N*m (459 kgf*cm, 33 ft.*lbf)

NOTICE:

Be careful not to drop the fuel tank assembly.

Tighten the 3 bolts (B).

Torque:
45 N*m (459 kgf*cm, 33 ft.*lbf)

NOTICE:

Be careful not to drop the fuel tank assembly.



e.

for GTMC Made:

Connect the No. 1 fuel tank breather tube sub-assembly to the fuel tank filler pipe assembly.

a.

Connect the fuel tank main tube sub-assembly to the fuel pipe.

a.

Connect the fuel tank filler pipe assembly to the fuel tank assembly.

Hide 77404 6.CONNECT FUEL TANK VENT HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

a.

Connect the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly to the fuel vapor containment valve (fuel tank solenoid main valve assembly).

Hide 77641A 7.INSTALL NO. 1 FUEL TANK PROTECTOR

a.

Install the No. 1 fuel tank protector to the fuel tank assembly with the 4 clips.


Hide 77210 8.CONNECT FUEL TANK FILLER PIPE ASSEMBLY (for TFTM Made)

Engage the locations shown in the illustration, and connect the fuel tank filler pipe assembly to the vehicle body.


b.

Connect the fuel tank filler pipe air tube to the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly with charcoal canister assembly.

c.

Engage the clamp.


d.

Install the bolt.

Torque:
23.5 N*m (240 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf)


Hide 77310A 9.INSTALL FUEL TANK CAP ASSEMBLY (for TFTM Made)

a.

Install the fuel tank cap assembly to the fuel tank filler pipe assembly.


Hide 65638 13.INSTALL REAR WHEEL HOUSE LINER LH (for TFTM Made)

a.

Install rear wheel house liner LH with a new clip.


b.

Install the clip (A), 8 clips (B), 2 screws (C) and screw (D).


c.

Install the rear bumper side seal LH with the 3 clips (A), clip (B) and clip (C).


d.

Install the No. 2 floor under cover.

i.

Tighten the 4 clips (B) and clip (C) to install the No. 2 floor under cover.


ii.

Install the 6 clips (A).
