CRUISE CONTROL  DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM  P057162  Brake Switch "A" Signal Compare Failure  


DESCRIPTION

When the brake pedal is depressed, the stop light switch assembly outputs a signal to the ECM. The ECM uses this signal to control cancellation of vehicle speed by the dynamic radar cruise control. When the ECM determines that terminals STP and ST1- of the stop light switch assembly are both less than 1 V, DTC P057162 is stored.

Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

M2-6 (B) - Body ground Engine switch off Below 1 V

a.

for 1GD-FTV:

i.

Disconnect the A2 ECM connector.


ii.

Disconnect the M2 stop light switch assembly connector.


iii.

Disconnect the A28 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.


iv.

Disconnect the N155 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.


v.

Disconnect the N161 shift lock control ECU (shift lock control unit assembly) connector.


vi.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
A2-12 (ST1-) - M2-5 (L) Always Below 1 Ω
A2-13 (STP) - M2-3 (L) Always Below 1 Ω
A2-12 (ST1-) or M2-5 (L) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
A2-13 (STP) or M2-3 (L) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher



vii.

Connect the N161 shift lock control ECU (shift lock control unit assembly) connector.


viii.

Connect the N155 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.


ix.

Connect the A28 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.


x.

Connect the M2 stop light switch assembly connector.


xi.

Connect the A2 ECM connector.



b.

for 7GR-FKS:

i.

Disconnect the N1 ECM connector.


ii.

Disconnect the M2 stop light switch assembly connector.


iii.

Disconnect the A28 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.


iv.

Disconnect the N155 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.


v.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
N1-15 (ST1-) - M2-5 (L) Always Below 1 Ω
N1-16 (STP) - M2-3 (L) Always Below 1 Ω
N1-15 (ST1-) or M2-5 (L) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
N1-16 (STP) or M2-3 (L) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher



vi.

Connect the N155 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.


vii.

Connect the A28 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.


viii.

Connect the M2 stop light switch assembly connector.


ix.

Connect the N1 ECM connector.
