DESCRIPTION

The ECM sends the engine speed signal to the air conditioning amplifier assembly via CAN communication.

The air conditioning amplifier assembly reads the difference between compressor speed and engine speed. When the difference becomes too large, the air conditioning amplifier assembly determines that the compressor is locked, and turns the magnet clutch assembly off.

PROCEDURE

1.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMPRESSOR WITH MAGNET CLUTCH ASSEMBLY - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY)
a.

Disconnect the E15 compressor with magnet clutch assembly connector.


b.

Disconnect the N43 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.


c.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
E15-1 (SSR+) - N43-12 (LOCK) Always Below 1 Ω
E15-2 (SSR-) - N43-14 (SG-5) Always Below 1 Ω
E15-1 (SSR+) - E15-2 (SSR-) Always 10 kΩ or higher
E15-1 (SSR+) or N43-12 (LOCK) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
E15-2 (SSR-) or N43-14 (SG-5) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
