Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

The following procedure is for the LH side.



PROCEDURE

Hide 62180A 1.INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

NOTICE:

When installing a curtain shield airbag assembly, have assistants hold it to prevent it from bending.


a.

Check that the ignition switch is off.


b.

Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

CAUTION:

Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.



c.

Install 3 new clips (A), a new roof side inner garnish clip and a new spacer to the curtain shield airbag assembly.

Connect the airbag connector.

NOTICE:

When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.


HINT:

Refer to How to Connect or Disconnect Airbag Connector.

Insert the 3 hooks and engage the 5 clips.

NOTICE:

Do not twist the curtain shield airbag assembly when installing it.

Install the curtain shield airbag assembly with 4 new bolts, the 3 clips (A) with pins, and roof side inner garnish clip with pin.

Torque:
9.8 N*m (100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf)

HINT:

Engage the 2 claws to install the 3 clips (A) and roof side inner garnish clip.



g.

Using a needle-nose pliers No. 2 or equivalent, push the 4 pins into the 3 clips (A) and roof side inner garnish clip.

NOTICE:
·

Do not damage the pins.

·

Make sure that the pins of the 3 clips (A) and roof side inner garnish clip are pushed in firmly.
