DOOR / HATCH  POWER BACK DOOR DRIVE UNIT  INSTALLATION

Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

The following procedure is for the LH side.



PROCEDURE

Hide 68948 1.INSTALL BACK DOOR DAMPER STAY LOWER BRACKET

a.

Clean the bolt holes in the vehicle body.

Install the back door damper stay lower bracket with 2 new bolts.

Torque:
9.0 N*m (92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf)

HINT:

With the door closed, install the back door damper stay lower bracket so that the arrow marker is facing the top side of the vehicle.



Hide 68946 2.INSTALL BACK DOOR DAMPER STAY UPPER BRACKET

a.

Clean the bolt holes in the vehicle body.

Install the back door damper stay upper bracket with 2 new bolts.

Torque:
9.0 N*m (92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf)

HINT:

With the door closed, install the back door damper stay upper bracket so that the arrow marker is facing the top side of the vehicle.



Hide 68920 3.INSTALL POWER BACK DOOR UNIT SET ASSEMBLY

NOTICE:

Do not apply any horizontal load to the power back door unit set assembly in order to prevent it from deforming.

Engage the 2 ball joints to install the power back door unit set assembly.

NOTICE:

Install the power back door unit set assembly while supporting the back door by hand.



b.

Check that the power back door unit set assembly is engaged to the ball joints and that it cannot be pulled out.

Install in this Direction


Engage the grommet as shown in the illustration.

Connect the connector.
