When replacing the telematics transceiver, make sure to replace it with a new one.

Before replacing the telematics transceiver, refer to Service Bulletin.



HINT:

Inspect the fuses and relays related to this system before inspecting the suspected areas below.


PROCEDURE

1.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT SUB-ASSEMBLY POWER SOURCE)
a.

Disconnect the G131 telematics transceiver connector.


b.

Disconnect the P24 map light sub-assembly connector.


c.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
G131-3 (SIG-) - P24-14 (GND3) Always Below 1 Ω
G131-3 (SIG-) or P24-14 (GND3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher



d.

Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
P24-24 (RRID) - Body Ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

Connect 4 1.5 V dry-cell batteries in series.

Connect a positive (+) lead from the batteries to terminal 24 (RRID), and a negative (-) lead to terminal 14 (GND3) of the map light sub-assembly connector.

Check if the emergency call switch illumination comes on.
