Even though the calorific value of the rear differential carrier assembly estimated from driving conditions is high enough, the temperature of the temperature sensor remains at approximately -40°C for 1 second or more

·

Even though the engine coolant temperature received from the ECM is below 35°C, the engine switch was turned from off on (IG) 2 times with the temperature of the temperature sensor fixed at approximately 80°C or more (shorted)

·

The temperature sensor power source voltage is 0.2 V or less for 1 second or more

·

The temperature sensor signal circuit voltage is 4.5 V or higher for 1 second or more

After performing repairs, clear the DTCs and check that the DTCs are not output again.

PROCEDURE

1.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (4WD ECU ASSEMBLY - TEMPERATURE SENSOR)
a.

Turn the engine switch off.


b.

Disconnect the N3 4WD ECU assembly connector.


c.

Disconnect the O9 temperature sensor connector.


d.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
N3-13 (THR+) - O9-1 (THR+) Always Below 1 Ω
N3-21 (THR-) - O9-2 (THR-) Always Below 1 Ω
N3-13 (THR+) or O9-1 (THR+) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
N3-21 (THR-) or O9-2 (THR-) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
