The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during transaxle oil (CVT) pan sub-assembly removal/installation are shown below.

PROCEDURE

Hide 3.DRAIN CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSAXLE FLUID

a.

Remove the refill plug and gasket from the rear transaxle case.

Using a 6 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the overflow plug and gasket from the transaxle oil (CVT) pan sub-assembly and drain the fluid.

*1 Overflow (CVT) Tube


Using a 6 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the overflow (CVT) tube from the transaxle oil (CVT) pan sub-assembly and drain the fluid.


d.

Using a 6 mm hexagon socket wrench, install the overflow (CVT) tube to the transaxle oil (CVT) pan sub-assembly.

Torque:
1.7 N*m (17 kgf*cm, 15 in.*lbf)


e.

Using a 6 mm hexagon socket wrench, temporarily install the overflow plug and gasket to the transaxle oil (CVT) pan sub-assembly.

HINT:

Reuse the old gasket as the overflow plug will be removed again to adjust the fluid level.



f.

Temporarily install the refill plug and gasket to the rear transaxle case.

HINT:

Reuse the old gasket as the refill plug will be removed again to adjust the fluid level.



Hide 35106L 4.REMOVE TRANSAXLE OIL (CVT) PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY

Remove the 16 bolts, transaxle oil (CVT) pan sub-assembly and transaxle oil pan (CVT) gasket from the transaxle case.


b.

Using a 6 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the overflow plug and gasket from the transaxle oil (CVT) pan sub-assembly.


c.

Using a 6 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the overflow (CVT) tube from the transaxle oil (CVT) pan sub-assembly.

*1 Oil Cleaner (CVT) Magnet


Remove the 3 oil cleaner (CVT) magnets from the transaxle oil (CVT) pan sub-assembly.


b.

Clean off any metal particles adhered to the 3 oil cleaner (CVT) magnets.


c.

Clean the transaxle oil (CVT) pan sub-assembly and remove any metal particles, sludge, etc.


Hide 35330D 6.REMOVE OIL STRAINER ASSEMBLY

HINT:

Perform this procedure only when replacement of the oil strainer assembly is necessary.

Remove the 3 bolts and oil strainer assembly from the transmission valve body assembly.

Remove the O-ring from the oil strainer assembly.
