METER / GAUGE / DISPLAY METER / GAUGE SYSTEM Engine Oil Pressure Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The combination meter assembly and engine oil pressure switch assembly are connected via direct line. The combination meter assembly determines the engine oil pressure based on the engine oil pressure switch ON/OFF signal.

HINT:: ·

The combination meter assembly receives various vehicle information signals from the ECM via CAN communication in order to output warnings.

The combination meter assembly operates the following to output oil pressure warnings:

Engine oil pressure warning light

(b)

Engine oil pressure warning buzzer

(c)

When replacing the combination meter assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a combination meter assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in it will not match the information from the vehicle and a DTC may be stored.

The following troubleshooting procedure is based on the assumption that the SFI control system is normal. Confirm that the SFI control system is not malfunctioning before performing the following procedure.

Remove the engine oil pressure switch assembly.

2.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

Disconnect the N23 combination meter assembly connector.

Disconnect the E18 engine oil pressure switch assembly connector.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
N23-23 (S) - E18-1(S)	Always	Below 1 Ω
N23-23 (S) or E18-1(S) - Other terminals and body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
