REAR SUSPENSION  REAR COIL SPRING  INSTALLATION  


CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

HINT:
·

Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

·

The procedure listed below is for the LH side.



PROCEDURE

Hide 48341 1.INSTALL REAR SPRING BUMPER

a.

Install the rear spring bumper to the vehicle body with the 2 bolts.

Torque:
32 N*m (326 kgf*cm, 24 ft.*lbf)


Hide 48259A 2.INSTALL REAR UPPER COIL SPRING INSULATOR

a.

Install the rear upper coil spring insulator to the vehicle body.

Front of the Vehicle


Install the rear lower coil spring insulator to the lower control arm assembly.

NOTICE:

Make sure to install the rear lower coil spring insulator with its arrow facing the front of the vehicle.



Hide 48231B 4.INSTALL REAR COIL SPRING

Align the end of the rear coil spring with the flange of the rear lower coil spring insulator and install the rear coil spring.

Using a jack and wooden block, slowly jack up the lower control arm assembly and then install the lower control arm assembly to the rear axle housing assembly with the nut, washer and bolt.

CAUTION:

Do not jack up the lower control arm assembly too high as the vehicle may fall.


NOTICE:
·

When jacking up the lower control arm assembly, be sure to jack it up slowly.

·

Make sure to perform this operation with the vehicle kept as low as possible.

·

Insert the bolt from the outside of the vehicle.




Hide 46430 5.CONNECT NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

a.

Connect the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly to the lower control arm assembly with the bolt.

Torque:
20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)


Hide 48720 8.INSTALL LOWER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY

a.

Install the lower control arm assembly with the 2 nuts.

Torque:
200 N*m (2039 kgf*cm, 148 ft.*lbf)

NOTICE:

When installing the nuts, keep the bolts from rotating.
