PARK ASSIST / MONITORING  TOYOTA PARKING ASSIST-SENSOR SYSTEM  Clearance Sonar Main Switch Circuit  


DESCRIPTION

The back sonar or clearance sonar switch assembly is installed at the base of the driver side of the instrument panel.

When the back sonar or clearance sonar switch assembly is turned on, an ON signal is sent to the clearance warning ECU assembly. The TOYOTA parking assist-sensor system operates according to this signal.

Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following procedure.


PROCEDURE

1.READ VALUE USING GTS
a.

Connect the GTS to the DLC3.


b.

Turn the ignition switch to ON.


c.

Turn the GTS on.


d.

Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Clearance Sonar / Data List.


e.

According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List.

Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

a.

Disconnect the N48 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.


b.

Disconnect the N50 back sonar or clearance sonar switch assembly connector.


c.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
N48-38 (CLSW) - N50-2 (ECU) Always Below 1 Ω
N48-38 (CLSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
