PROCEDURE

Hide 1.SECURE VEHICLE

a.

Fully apply the parking brake and chock a wheel.

CAUTION:

Make sure to apply the parking brake and chock a wheel before performing this procedure.

·

If the vehicle is not secure and the shift lever is moved to N, the vehicle may suddenly move, possibly resulting in an accident or serious injury.




Hide 33820B 5.DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

NOTICE:

Before adjusting the transmission control cable assembly, check that the park/neutral position switch assembly and shift lever are in N.

Disconnect in this Direction


Disconnect the end of the transmission control cable assembly from the transmission floor shift assembly.

Rotate the socket counterclockwise approximately 180°

Disconnect in this Direction


Rotate the socket counterclockwise approximately 180° and, while holding the nut in that position, disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the transmission instrument panel shift assembly retainer.

NOTICE:

Do not over-rotate the nut as it will come off the internal spring and the transmission control cable assembly will not be reusable.



Hide 33820B 6.REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

Remove the nut and clip and disconnect the transmission control cable blacket from the control shaft lever LH.

Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the vehicle body.


c.
C407625

Remove the 2 bolts and then pull out the transmission control cable assembly from the vehicle body.
