The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during VVT sensor removal/installation are shown below.

1.REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY
2.REMOVE AIR SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY (w/ Secondary Air Injection System)

3.REMOVE VVT SENSOR (for Intake Side of Bank 1)
w/o Secondary Air Injection System:
Disconnect the connector from the VVT sensor.
Remove the bolt and VVT sensor from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.
- NOTICE:
-
If the VVT sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.
Perform this procedure only when reusing the VVT sensor.
Remove the O-ring from the VVT sensor.
- NOTICE:
- ·
Make sure to only remove the O-ring with bare hands.
·When removing the O-ring, be careful not to damage the O-ring groove of the VVT sensor.
·If the O-ring groove of the VVT sensor is damaged, replace the VVT sensor with a new one.
w/ Secondary Air Injection System:
Disconnect the connector from the VVT sensor.
Remove the bolt and VVT sensor from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.
- NOTICE:

If the VVT sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.
Perform this procedure only when reusing the VVT sensor.
Remove the O-ring from the VVT sensor.

Make sure to only remove the O-ring with bare hands.
·When removing the O-ring, be careful not to damage the O-ring groove of the VVT sensor.
·If the O-ring groove of the VVT sensor is damaged, replace the VVT sensor with a new one.

4.REMOVE VVT SENSOR (for Exhaust Side of Bank 1)
w/o Secondary Air Injection System:
Disconnect the connector from the VVT sensor.
Remove the bolt and VVT sensor from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.

If the VVT sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.
Perform this procedure only when reusing the VVT sensor.
Remove the O-ring from the VVT sensor.

Make sure to only remove the O-ring with bare hands.
