DESCRIPTION

This DTC is output when an open circuit or short occurs in the communication line between a rear corner ultrasonic sensor (RL sensor) and the clearance warning ECU assembly, or when a malfunction occurs in a rear corner ultrasonic sensor (RL sensor) on the rear.

If a DTC is detected again after the repair, turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the Toyota parking assist-sensor system on, and then clear the DTC.

8.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY - REAR CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR [RL SENSOR])
a.

Disconnect the I24 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.


b.

Disconnect the R18 rear corner ultrasonic sensor (RL sensor) connector.


c.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

Replace the rear corner ultrasonic sensor (RL sensor) with a known good one.

All of the sensors are interchangeable. To confirm whether a sensor is functioning normally, switch it with a known good sensor from the other end of the vehicle.
