The navigation receiver assembly is connected to the combination meter assembly via a LVDS communication line. The combination meter assembly displays navigation system map information which is sent from the navigation receiver assembly via LVDS communication.
When replacing the combination meter assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a combination meter assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in it will not match the information from the vehicle and a DTC may be stored.
The following troubleshooting procedure is based on the assumption that the navigation system is normal. Confirm that the navigation system is not malfunctioning before performing the following procedure.
Disconnect the G163 navigation receiver assembly connector.
Disconnect the G164 combination meter assembly connector.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
| Tester Connection | Condition | Specified Condition |
|---|---|---|
| G163-1 (LVDS-) - G164-1 (LVDS-) | Always | Below 1 Ω |
| G163-2 (LVDS+) - G164-2 (LVDS+) | Always | Below 1 Ω |
| G163-3 (GND) - Body ground | Always | 10 kΩ or higher |
| G163-1 (LVDS-) or G164-1 (LVDS-) - Body ground | Always | 10 kΩ or higher |
| G163-2 (LVDS+) or G164-2 (LVDS+) - Body ground | Always | 10 kΩ or higher |
