PROCEDURE
1. VIN OR FRAME NUMBER

The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or frame number must be written to a replacement ECM.
DESCRIPTION
- HINT:

This registration section consists of 2 parts: Read VIN or Frame Number and Write VIN or Frame Number.
Read VIN or Frame Number: This procedure allows the VIN or frame number stored in the ECM to be read in order to confirm that the VINs or frame numbers, provided on the vehicle body and stored in the vehicle ECM, are the same.
Write VIN or Frame Number: This procedure allows the VIN or frame number to be written to the ECM. If the ECM is replaced, or the ECM VIN or frame number and vehicle VIN or frame number do not match, the VIN or frame number can be registered, or overwritten in the ECM by following this procedure.
READ VIN OR FRAME NUMBER
Confirm the vehicle VIN or frame number.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Utility / VIN / VIN Read.
- Powertrain > Engine > Utility

According to the display on the GTS, read the VIN or frame number stored in the ECM.
WRITE VIN OR FRAME NUMBER
Confirm the vehicle VIN or frame number.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Utility / VIN / VIN Write.
- Powertrain > Engine > Utility

According to the display on the GTS, write the VIN or vehicle frame number to the ECM.
2. GPF DEPOSITION VALUES
- HINT:

These functions store and write the volumes of accumulated ash (metal oxide) and PM (Particulate Matter) that are recorded when replacing the ECM.
GPF DEPOSITION VALUES SAVE
- HINT:
-
This function stores the volumes of accumulated ash and PM recorded by the ECM.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Utility / GPF Deposition Values Save.
- Powertrain > Engine > Utility

According to the display on the GTS, store the volumes of accumulated ash and PM to the GTS.
GPF DEPOSITION VALUES WRITE
- HINT:

This function writes the volumes of accumulated ash and PM stored in the GTS.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Utility / GPF Deposition Values Write.

3. TOTAL SHORT TRIP ESTIMATE

These functions are used for reading and writing "Total Short Trip Estimate Bank 1" when replacing the ECM.
READ TOTAL SHORT TRIP ESTIMATE
- HINT:
-
This function is used for saving the value of "Total Short Trip Estimate Bank 1" when replacing the ECM.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Utility / Total Short Trip Estimate Registration.
- Powertrain > Engine > Utility

Tester Display Total Short Trip Estimate Registration - 50005 372 4917
Select "Read Total Short Trip Estimate".
According to the display on the GTS, read the Total Short Trip Estimate Bank 1 stored in the ECM.
WRITE TOTAL SHORT TRIP ESTIMATE

This function is used for writing the value of "Total Short Trip Estimate Bank 1" when replacing the ECM.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Utility / Total Short Trip Estimate Registration.
- Powertrain > Engine > Utility

Tester Display Total Short Trip Estimate Registration - 50005 372 4917
Select "Write Total Short Trip Estimate".
According to the display on the GTS, write the Total Short Trip Estimate Bank 1 stored in the ECM.
