Area (A) |
Using a drill, slowly drill a hole approximately 12 mm (0.472 in.) deep indicated by the area (A) in the illustration to discharge the gas inside.
Make sure to wear safety glasses as brake fluid and shards of metal may be ejected due to the release of pressurized gas.
Make sure to sufficiently secure the pump or accumulator of the brake booster with accumulator pump assembly before performing this procedure.
Make sure to drill the hole slowly so that pressurized gas will not be released rapidly.
Nitrogen gas, which is colorless, odorless and harmless, will be discharged.
The recommended drill bit diameter is 6 mm (0.236 in.) or less.
