ACOUSTIC VEHICLE ALERTING SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK


a.

System operation check (vehicle stopped)

NOTICE:

Perform this check with the AUTO function (shift-linked function) of the electric parking brake system off.


i.

Apply the parking brake.


ii.

Turn the ignition switch to ON.


iii.

With the brake pedal depressed, confirm that the acoustic vehicle alerting system does not operate (produce a sound) when the shift lever is moved from P to N.


iv.

When the brake pedal is released, confirm that the acoustic vehicle alerting system operates for approximately 3 seconds (produces a sound).



b.

System operation check (vehicle being driven)

i.

Turn the ignition switch to ON.


ii.

Operate the EV drive mode switch and drive the vehicle using EV drive mode.


iii.

When the shift lever is moved from P to D, confirm that the acoustic vehicle alerting system operates (produces a sound) when the vehicle is driven at speeds of 25 km/h (16 mph) or less using EV drive mode.
