SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS  CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY  INSTALLATION  


CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

HINT:
·

Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

·

The procedure listed below is for the LH side.



PROCEDURE

Hide 62180A 1.INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH

a.

Check that the ignition switch is off.


b.

Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

CAUTION:
·

Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

·

If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.




c.

When reusing the curtain shield airbag assembly LH:

i.

Install new clips (A), new clips (B), new roof side inner garnish clip and new curtain shield airbag clip spacer to the curtain shield airbag assembly LH.



d.

Connect the airbag connector.

NOTICE:

When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

Attach the guide and clip (B) to set the curtain shield airbag assembly LH inflator.



g.

Attach the claw (A).


h.

Install new 2 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

Torque:
9.8 N*m (100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf)


i.

Attach the claw (B).


j.

Attach clips (A) and roof side inner garnish clip.

HINT:

Attach the claw to install each clip (A) and roof side inner garnish clip.

Push the pins into the clips (A) and roof side inner garnish clip.

NOTICE:

Do not damage the pins.

·

Make sure that the pins of the clips (A) and roof side inner garnish clip are pushed in firmly.

except Moon Roof:

Attach the hook and install new 2 bolts.

Torque:
9.8 N*m (100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf)



m.

for Moon Roof:

i.

Attach the hook and install new 2 bolts (A).

Torque:
9.8 N*m (100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf)


ii.

Install new 4 bolts (B).

Torque:
6.0 N*m (61 kgf*cm, 53 in.*lbf)
