When the 4WD ECU assembly is replaced, before removing the 4WD ECU assembly, it is necessary to perform ECU Data Save to save the original 4WD ECU assembly information.

After performing repairs, clear the DTCs and check that the DTCs are not output again.

PROCEDURE

1.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (4WD ECU ASSEMBLY - FRONT 4WD LINEAR SOLENOID (TRANSFER ASSEMBLY))
a.

Turn the engine switch off.


b.

Disconnect the N3 4WD ECU assembly connector.


c.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
N3-5 (SLF+) - N3-6 (SLF-) 20°C (68°F) 0.73 to 0.83 Ω
N3-5(SLF+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher



d.

Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
N3-6(SLF-) - Body ground Always Below 1 V

a.

Turn the engine switch off.


b.

Disconnect the C60 front 4WD linear solenoid (transfer assembly) connector.


c.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
N3-5(SLF+) - C60-2(SLF+) Always Below 1 Ω
N3-6(SLF-) - C60-1(SLF-) Always Below 1 Ω
N3-5(SLF+) or C60-2(SLF+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
N3-6(SLF-) or C60-1(SLF-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
N3-5(SLF+) or C60-2(SLF+) - N3-6(SLF-) or C60-1(SLF-) Always 10 kΩ or higher
