MAINTENANCE  NR Series BATTERY  INSTALLATION  


CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:

When replacing the battery, use a new battery of the same dimensions and same capacity or more from the same class at a 20-hour rate.


PROCEDURE

Hide 1.INSTALL BATTERY

a.

Install the battery to the vehicle.

Install in this Direction


Install the No. 2 battery clamp with the bolt.

Torque:
15.4 N*m (157 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf)


c.

Connect the cable to the positive (+) battery terminal.

Install in this Direction


Engage the spring assembly as shown in the illustration.

Tighten the nut.

Torque:
5.6 N*m (57 kgf*cm, 50 in.*lbf)


f.

Engage the 2 claws and install the fusible link cover.


Hide 2.CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

a.

Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal and tighten the nut.

Torque:
5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf)


Hide 3. INITIALIZATION AFTER RECONNECTING BATTERY TERMINAL

HINT:

When disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, there is an automatic learning function that completes learning when the respective system is used.
