NR Series FUEL  FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR  REMOVAL  


CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during fuel pressure sensor (fuel delivery pipe) removal/installation are shown below.

Never perform work on fuel system components near any possible ignition sources.

Vaporized fuel could ignite, resulting in a serious accident.

Do not perform work on fuel system components without first disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

Sparks could cause vaporized fuel to ignite, resulting in a serious accident.

To prevent serious injury due to fuel spray from the high-pressure fuel lines, always discharge fuel system pressure before removing any fuel system components.



NOTICE:

After the ignition switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the negative (-) battery terminal.

HINT:

When the cable is disconnected / reconnected to the battery terminal, systems temporarily stop operating. However, each system has a function that completes learning the first time the system is used.

PROCEDURE

Hide 23814B 1.REMOVE FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR (FUEL DELIVERY PIPE)

NOTICE:
·

Do not remove the fuel pressure sensor from the fuel delivery pipe.

·

If the fuel pressure sensor is removed, replace the fuel pressure sensor (fuel delivery pipe) with a new one.



Hide 23839A 2.REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL PIPE PLUG

Secure the fuel delivery pipe in a vise between aluminum plates.

NOTICE:

Do not overtighten the vise.



b.

Using a 5 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the 2 bolts, gasket and No. 1 fuel pipe plug from the fuel delivery pipe.


c.

Remove the dust cap sub-assembly from the No. 1 fuel pipe plug.


d.

Remove the O-ring, No. 1 fuel injector back-up ring, No. 2 fuel injector back-up ring and No. 3 fuel injector back-up ring from the No. 1 fuel pipe plug.


e.

Remove the fuel delivery pipe from the vise.
