WINDOW / GLASS  WINDOW DEFOGGER SYSTEM  SYSTEM DESCRIPTION  


GENERAL


a.

for Manual Air Conditioning System:

i.

The window defogger wire is attached to the inside of the rear window and defogs the window surface quickly when the window defogger switch is pressed. The indicator light on the window defogger switch illuminates while the system is operating. This system automatically turns off after approximately 15 minutes.



b.

for Automatic Air Conditioning System:

i.

The window defogger wire is attached to the inside of the rear window and defogs the window surface quickly when the window defogger switch is pressed. The indicator light on the window defogger switch illuminates while the system is operating. This system automatically turns off after approximately 15 minutes.

HINT:
·

If both of the following conditions are met after approximately 15 minutes from when the window defogger system was activated, the window defogger system continues to operate up to approximately 45 minutes. If the following conditions are not met, the window defogger system stops operating immediately.

(a)

The outside temperature is -3°C (27°F) or lower.

(b)

Power generated by the generator assembly installed on the vehicle is stable.

for Manual Air Conditioning System (except Double Swing Out Type)
Component Outline
Heater Control Knob Sends a window defogger system activation request signal to the defogger relay (DEF).
Defogger Relay (DEF) Receives a window defogger system activation request signal from the heater control knob and supplies power to the back door glass (window defogger wire).
Back Door Glass (Window Defogger Wire) Receives power from the defogger relay (DEF) and heats the rear window using the back door glass (window defogger wire).

for Manual Air Conditioning System (for Double Swing Out Type)
Component Outline
Heater Control Knob Sends a window defogger system activation request signal to the defogger relay (DEF).
Defogger Relay (DEF) Receives a window defogger system activation request signal from the heater control knob and supplies power to the back door glass LH (window defogger wire) and back door glass RH (window defogger wire).
Back Door Glass LH (Window Defogger Wire) and Back Door Glass RH (Window Defogger Wire) Receives power from the defogger relay (DEF) and heats the rear window using the back door glass LH (window defogger wire) and back door glass RH (window defogger wire).

Center Cluster Module Control Assembly (Window Defogger Switch) Sends signals to the air conditioning amplifier assembly to operate the window defogger system.
Air Conditioning Amplifier Assembly Sends a window defogger system activation request signal to the defogger relay (DEF).
Defogger Relay (DEF) Receives a window defogger system activation request signal from the air conditioning amplifier assembly and supplies power to the back door glass (window defogger wire).
Back Door Glass (Window Defogger Wire) Receives power from the defogger relay (DEF) and heats the rear window using the back door glass (window defogger wire).
