Detach the claw in the direction (1) indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration.
Detach the guide in the direction (2) indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration and remove the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.
Detach the clamp and remove the hood lock control lever sub-assembly from the hood lock control cable assembly.

7.REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY
w/ Courtesy Switch:
Disconnect the connector.

Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, remove the hood lock nut cap.

Remove the 2 bolts and hood lock bolt.
Detach the clamp and disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly to remove the hood lock assembly.
Do not bend the hood lock control cable assembly excessively.

8.REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

Tie a string to the end of the hood lock control cable assembly in the cabin.
Use a length of string long enough to pass through the engine compartment.
Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, detach the clamp and grommet as shown in the illustration.

Pull the hood lock control cable assembly from the engine compartment to remove it.
Do not pull off the string, because it is used during installation. Leave it on the vehicle.
Remove the string from the hood lock control cable assembly.
