HINT:

Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

·

The procedure listed below is for the LH side.



PROCEDURE

Hide 48710 1.TEMPORARILY INSTALL UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY

a.

for Type A:

i.

Temporarily install the upper control arm assembly to the rear axle housing assembly and vehicle body with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

NOTICE:
·

for front side:

Insert the bolt from the outside of the vehicle.

·

for rear side:

Insert the bolt from the inside of the vehicle.

Front of the Vehicle


for Type B:

i.

Temporarily install the upper control arm assembly to the rear axle housing assembly and vehicle body with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

NOTICE:
·

Make sure that the identification mark is positioned on the front side of the vehicle.

·

for Front Side:

Insert the bolt from the outside of the vehicle.

·

for Rear Side:

Insert the bolt from the inside of the vehicle.





Hide 48710 3.INSTALL UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY

a.

for Front Side:

i.

Install the upper control arm assembly with the bolt.

Torque:
200 N*m (2039 kgf*cm, 148 ft.*lbf)

NOTICE:

When installing the nuts, keep the bolts from rotating.

*a Torque Wrench Fulcrum Length


for Rear Side:

i.

Using a ball joint lock nut wrench, install the upper control arm assembly with the bolt.

Torque:
Specified tightening torque : 200 N*m (2039 kgf*cm, 148 ft.*lbf)

NOTICE:

When installing the nuts, keep the bolts from rotating.


HINT:
·

Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.

When using a ball joint lock nut wrench (fulcrum length of 150 mm (5.906 in.)) + torque wrench (fulcrum length of 600 mm (23.622 in.)):

160 N*m (1632 kgf*cm, 118 ft.*lbf)
