Check the wire harness.

i.

Disconnect the A37 air conditioner pressure sensor connector.


ii.

Disconnect the N41 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.


iii.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
A37-1 (-) - N41-15 (SG-4) Always Below 1 Ω
A37-2 (PR) - N41-6 (PRE) Always Below 1 Ω
A37-3 (+) - N41-11 (S5-3) Always Below 1 Ω
A37-1 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
A37-2 (PR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
A37-3 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher


If the resistance is not as specified, repair the wire harness.



b.

Check the Voltage.

Reconnect the A37 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.


ii.

Turn the ignition switch to ON.


iii.

Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
A37-3 (+) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 4.75 to 5.25 V


If the voltage is not as specified, repair the wire harness or replace the air conditioning amplifier assembly.



c.

Check the air conditioner pressure sensor.

i.

Connect the connector to the air conditioner pressure sensor.


ii.

Install a manifold gauge set.


iii.

Warm up the engine.


iv.

Turn the A/C switch on.


v.

Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

HINT:

Check from the rear of the connector while it is connected to the air conditioning amplifier assembly.


Standard Voltage:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition

*Value when sensor power source voltage is 5 V

N41-6 (PRE) - N41-15 (SG-4) Refrigerant pressure: Normal pressure (less than 3025 kPa (30.8 kgf/cm2, 439 psi) and more than 176 kPa (1.8 kgf/cm2, 26 psi)) 0.62 to 4.73 V*
Refrigerant pressure: Abnormal pressure (below 176 kPa (1.8 kgf/cm2, 26 psi), or 3025 kPa (30.8 kgf/cm2, 439 psi) or higher) Below 0.85 V, or 4.50 V or higher*

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

If the voltage is not as specified, repair the wire harness or replace the air conditioning amplifier assembly.



c.

Check the air conditioner pressure sensor.

i.

Connect the connector to the air conditioner pressure sensor.


ii.

Install a manifold gauge set.


iii.

Warm up the engine.


iv.

Turn the A/C switch on.


v.

Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

HINT:

Check from the rear of the connector while it is connected to the air conditioning amplifier assembly.


Standard Voltage:
