1.INSTALL TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY
Install the transmission control cable assembly from outside the vehicle body with the 2 bolts.
Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the vehicle body with the 2 nuts.
Turn the control shaft lever LH clockwise until it stops, and then return the control shaft lever counterclockwise 2 notches to N.
Connect the transmission control cable to the transmission control cable bracket with a new clip, and then connect the cable end to the control shaft lever LH with the nut.

2.CONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

Slide the slider of the transmission control cable assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration and pull the lock piece outward.
Turn the lock nut of the transmission control cable assembly approximatery 180° counterclockwise. While holding the lock nut in place, push in the cable lock to lock the lock nut.

Rotate the socket counterclockwise approximately 180° |

Do not over-rotate the nut as it will come off the internal spring and the transmission control cable assembly will not be reusable.

Connect in this Direction |
Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the transmission instrument panel shift assembly retainer. Check that the stopper returns to the pulled-out position.

Connect in this Direction |
Connect the end of the transmission control cable assembly to the transmission floor shift assembly.
The shift lever should be in N.
Make sure that the lock piece is pulled up.
Push on the end of the cable all the way to the base of the transmission floor shift assembly pin.
Push the lock piece into the adjuster case.
Check that the park/neutral position switch assembly and shift lever are in neutral.
Securely push in the lock piece until it locks.
