PROCEDURE

Hide 48540 1.TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY

*1 Rear Shock Absorber Cushion Washer


Install the 2 rear shock absorber cushion washers to the spring U bolt seat and vehicle body.

NOTICE:

Make sure to install the rear shock absorber cushion washer in the correct direction.



b.

Install 4 new rear shock absorber bushes to the rear shock absorber assembly.


c.

Install the rear shock absorber assembly and 4 rear shock absorber bushes to the spring U bolt seat and vehicle body.


d.

Temporarily install the 2 bolts.


Hide 3.STABILIZE SUSPENSION

a.

Lower the vehicle.


b.

Bounce the vehicle up and down several times to stabilize the suspension.

*a Torque Wrench Fulcrum Length


Install the rear shock absorber assembly with the bolt (A).

Torque:
68 N*m (693 kgf*cm, 50 ft.*lbf)


b.

Using a ball joint lock nut wrench, fully tighten the rear shock absorber assembly with the bolt (B).

Torque:
Specified tightening torque : 68 N*m (693 kgf*cm, 50 ft.*lbf)

HINT:
·

Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.

When using a ball joint lock nut wrench (fulcrum length of 150 mm (5.906 in.)) + torque wrench (fulcrum length of 255 mm (10.039 in.)):

42.8 N*m (436 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf)




Hide 65638A 5.INSTALL REAR WHEEL HOUSE LINER (w/ Wheel House Liner)

a.

Install the rear wheel house liner with the 2 clips and new grommet.
