DOOR / HATCH  POWER SLIDE DOOR SYSTEM  OPERATION CHECK  


Operation Conditions


a.

Operation conditions when ignition switch is turned to ON:

i.

Power slide door main switch on


ii.

Slide door unlocked (unlock detection switch on)


iii.

Vehicle speed 3 km/h (2 mph) or less


iv.

When any of the following conditions is met:

·

Shift lever in P

·

Brake pedal depressed (stop light switch on)

·

Parking brake locked




b.

Operation conditions when ignition switch is turned off:

i.

Power slide door main switch on


ii.

Slide door unlocked (unlock detection switch on)




CHECK BASIC OPERATIONS


NOTICE:

Before performing the inspection, check that the power slide door system customization settings are set to the defaults.

a.

w/ Power Slide Door RH:

i.

When the No. 1 power slide door control switch (slide door open switch RH) is pressed for 0.5 seconds or more with the slide door RH fully closed, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.8 seconds and a slide door RH open operation is performed.


ii.

When the No. 1 power slide door control switch (slide door close switch RH) is pressed for 0.5 seconds or more with the slide door RH fully open, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.8 seconds and a slide door RH close operation is performed.


iii.

When the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly (slide door open/close switch RH) is operated for 0.8 seconds or more with the slide door RH fully closed or fully open, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.8 seconds and a slide door RH open or close operation is performed.


iv.

When the inside handle is operated with the slide door fully closed or fully open, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.8 seconds and a slide door open or close operation is performed.

NOTICE:

When the child door lock is locked and the slide door is fully closed, a slide door open operation cannot be performed using the inside handle.



v.

When the outside handle is operated with the slide door fully closed or fully open, check that a slide door open or close operation is performed.



b.

w/ Power Slide Door LH:

i.

When the No. 2 power slide door control switch (slide door open switch LH) is pressed for 0.5 seconds or more with the slide door LH fully closed, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.8 seconds and a slide door LH open operation is performed.


ii.

When the No. 2 power slide door control switch (slide door close switch LH) is pressed for 0.5 seconds or more with the slide door LH fully open, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.8 seconds and a slide door LH close operation is performed.


iii.

When the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly (slide door open/close switch LH) is operated for 0.8 seconds or more with the slide door LH fully closed or fully open, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.8 seconds and a slide door LH open or close operation is performed.


iv.

When the inside handle is operated with the slide door fully closed or fully open, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.8 seconds and a slide door open or close operation is performed.

NOTICE:

When the child door lock is locked and the slide door is fully closed, a slide door open operation cannot be performed using the inside handle.



v.

When the outside handle is operated with the slide door fully closed or fully open, check that a slide door open or close operation is performed.




CHECK ONE-MOTION OPERATION


a.

w/ Power Slide Door RH:

NOTICE:

Before checking the one-motion operation, check that the power slide door system customization settings "Wireless PSD SW Operation(RR)" are set to "2/OM" or "L/OM".

When the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly (slide door open/close switch RH) is operated with all the doors locked, check that the doors of the operated side unlock and a slide door RH open operation is performed.


b.

w/ Power Slide Door LH:

When the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly (slide door open/close switch LH) is operated with all the doors locked, check that the doors of the operated side unlock and a slide door LH open operation is performed.



CHECK OPERATION WHEN ANOTHER INPUT DETECTED DURING OPEN AND CLOSE OPERATIONS


a.

w/ Power Slide Door RH:

i.

When the power slide control switch RH (slide door open switch RH) is operated during a slide door close operation, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.2 seconds and the slide door stops. Also, when the power slide control switch RH (slide door open switch RH) is operated again, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.8 seconds and a slide door open operation begins.


ii.

When the No. 1 power slide door control switch (slide door close switch RH) is operated during a slide door open operation, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.2 seconds and the slide door stops. Also, when the No. 1 power slide door control switch (slide door close switch RH) is operated again, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.8 seconds and a slide door close operation begins.


iii.

When the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is operated during a slide door open or close operation, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.2 seconds and the slide door stops. Also, when the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is operated again, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.8 seconds and a slide door open operation begins.


iv.

When the inside handle is operated during a slide door close operation, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.2 seconds and the slide door stops. Also, when the inside handle is operated again, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.8 seconds and a slide door open operation begins.


v.

When the inside handle is operated during a slide door open operation, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.2 seconds and the slide door stops. Also, when the inside handle is operated again, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.8 seconds and a slide door close operation begins.


vi.

When the outside handle is operated during a slide door open or close operation, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.2 seconds and the slide door stops. Also, when the outside handle is operated again, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.8 seconds and a slide door reverse operation begins.



b.

w/ Power Slide Door LH:

i.

When the power slide control switch LH (slide door open switch LH) is operated during a slide door close operation, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.2 seconds and the slide door stops. Also, when the power slide control switch LH (slide door open switch LH) is operated again, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.8 seconds and a slide door open operation begins.


ii.

When the No. 2 power slide door control switch (slide door close switch LH) is operated during a slide door open operation, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.2 seconds and the slide door stops. Also, when the No. 2 power slide door control switch (slide door close switch LH) is operated again, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.8 seconds and a slide door close operation begins.


iii.

When the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is operated during a slide door open or close operation, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.2 seconds and the slide door stops. Also, when the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is operated again, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.8 seconds and a slide door open operation begins.


iv.

When the inside handle is operated during a slide door close operation, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.2 seconds and the slide door stops. Also, when the inside handle is operated again, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.8 seconds and a slide door open operation begins.


v.

When the inside handle is operated during a slide door open operation, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.2 seconds and the slide door stops. Also, when the inside handle is operated again, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.8 seconds and a slide door close operation begins.


vi.

When the outside handle is operated during a slide door open or close operation, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.2 seconds and the slide door stops. Also, when the outside handle is operated again, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.8 seconds and a slide door reverse operation begins.




OPERATION CONDITION NOT MET DURING OPEN AND CLOSE OPERATIONS


a.

When operation conditions are not met, check that the slide door motor unit (slide door ECU) stops the power slide door operation and the buzzer sounds.

HINT:

The system switches to power brake control when an operation performed using the inside or outside handle of the slide door starts. In this case, the buzzer sounds for approximately 2 seconds.



Sounds 2 times for approximately 0.13 seconds
HINT:

With the slide door fully closed, if the slide door unlock condition is not met when an open operation performed by using the inside or outside handle of the slide door starts, the buzzer does not sound.


Vehicle speed 3 km/h (2 mph) or less

Operation does not start

·

Interrupt control (magnetic clutch engagement)

HINT:

The system switches to interrupt control (magnetic clutch engagement) when an operation performed using the inside or outside handle of the slide door starts. In this case, the buzzer sounds for approximately 2 seconds.



Sounds 2 times for approximately 0.13 seconds
HINT:

With the slide door fully closed, if the slide door unlock condition is not met when an open operation performed by using the inside or outside handle of the slide door starts, the buzzer does not sound.


During an open operation Any of the following conditions are not met:

CHECK JAM PROTECTION FUNCTION


a.

Check jam protection function during slide door open operation

HINT:

The slide door will not reverse operation even if the power slide door sensor (touch sensor) is touched during a slide door open operation.


i.

Perform a slide door open operation.


ii.

When the slide door is obstructed using hands, etc., (operation speed slows) near the fully open position (approximately 20 cm [0.66 ft.] from fully open) during a slide door open operation, check that operation of the slide door stops. Also, when the slide door is obstructed using hands, etc., (operation speeds slows) further than 20 cm (0.66 ft.) from fully open during a slide door open operation, check that the buzzer sounds for approximately 2 seconds and the slide door reverses operation.



b.

Check jam protection function during slide door close operation

i.

Perform a slide door close operation.


ii.

w/o Ignition Linked Automatic Door Unlock Function:

When the slide door is obstructed using hands, etc., (operation speed slows) during a slide door close operation, check that the buzzer sounds for approximately 2 seconds and the slide door reverses operation for approximately 100 mm (3.94 in.) and stops at that position.


iii.

w/ Ignition Linked Automatic Door Unlock Function:

When the slide door is obstructed using hands, etc., (operation speed slows) during a slide door close operation, check that the buzzer sounds for approximately 2 seconds and the slide door reverses operation for fully open and stops at that position.



c.

Check jam protection function during slide door close operation (touch sensor)

NOTICE:

Take care not to injure your hands, etc., when inspecting the power slide door sensor assembly.


i.

Perform a slide door close operation.


ii.

w/o Ignition Linked Automatic Door Unlock Function:

When part of the power slide door sensor assembly (touch sensor) is touched (pressure applied to sensor) during a slide door close operation or when the slide door is ajar during a slide door close operation, check that the buzzer sounds for approximately 2 seconds and the slide door reverses operation for approximately 100 mm (3.94 in.) and stops at that position.


iii.

w/ Ignition Linked Automatic Door Unlock Function:

When part of the power slide door sensor assembly (touch sensor) is touched (pressure applied to sensor) during a slide door close operation or when the slide door is ajar during a slide door close operation, check that the buzzer sounds for approximately 2 seconds and the slide door reverses operation for fully open and stops at that position.
