OUTLINE OF THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM


·

The theft deterrent system can be set by locking the doors using any of the following operations:

-

Entry lock operation

-

Wireless lock operation


·

In the armed state, the alarm function will be activated if one of the following conditions is met:

-

Any of the doors are unlocked.

-

Any of the doors or the engine hood is opened.


·

In the alarm sounding state, the system blinks the turn signal lights. At the same time, the system sounds the vehicle horns and theft warning siren assembly to deter break-in and theft as well as to warn people around the vehicle.

·

The theft deterrent system can be canceled by unlocking the doors using the following operation:

-

Entry unlock operation

-

Wireless unlock operation

-

Key linked unlock operation*

*: This function is set through the customize function.


·

The theft deterrent system has an active arming mode. There are 4 states in this mode: a disarmed state, an arming preparation state, an armed state and an alarm sounding state.


a.

Disarmed state:

·

The alarm function is not operating.

·

The theft deterrent system is not operating.



b.

Arming preparation state:

·

The time until the system goes into the armed state.

·

The theft deterrent system is not operating.



c.

Armed state:

·

The theft deterrent system is operating.



d.

Alarm sounding state:

·

The alarm function is operating.


Alarm time:

Approximately 27.5 seconds

Active arming mode:

This system operates as described in the diagram below when one of the items for each condition is met.

HINT:

The term "all doors" used in this section refers to the driver door, front passenger door, rear door LH, rear door RH and back door.

Condition Item
Condition [1] In disarmed state 1, when the ignition switch is off or the remote start is operating*1, the system state is switched if the following condition is met:
·

With all doors, the engine hood and back door closed, all doors are locked by wireless operation or entry operation.


Condition [2] In disarmed state 1, when the ignition switch is off or the remote start is operating*1, the system state is switched if the following condition is met:
·

With all doors closed and the engine hood open, all doors are locked by wireless operation or entry operation.


Condition [3] One of the following conditions is met:
·

All doors and the engine hood are unlocked by wireless operation, entry operation or key linked power door lock operation*3.

·

Any door is unlocked.

·

Any door is opened.

·

The power switch is pushed.*4

·

The engine switch is pushed.*5

·

The ignition switch is turned ACC or ON.

·

The auxiliary battery is reconnected.


Condition [4] One of the following conditions is met:
·

The engine hood open.


Condition [5]
·

Allow approximately 9 seconds to elapse.


Condition [6] Both of the following conditions are met:
·

The engine hood close.


Condition [7] One of the following conditions is met:
·

The ignition switch is turned ON (READY).*4

·

The ignition switch is turned to ON and the engine is running at 550rpm for 2 seconds or more.*5

·

All doors are unlocked by wireless operation or entry operation.


Condition [8] One of the following conditions is met:
·

The engine hood is opened when the engine hood is closed.

·

Any door is opened when all doors are closed.

·

Any door is unlocked when all doors are locked not by wireless operation or entry operation.

·

When 5 seconds or more have elapsed since the power switch is pressed, the power source mode is changed from off to ON withoutpressing the power switch.*4

·

When 5 seconds or more have elapsed since the engine switch is pressed, the power source mode is changed from off to ON withoutpressing the engine switch. *5

·

The auxiliary battery is reconnected when the engine hood is open, any door is open or any door is unlocked.

·

Ignition switch ON.

·

After warning, engine hood remains open.

·

After warning, any door remains open.

·

After warning, ignition switch ON.


Condition [9] If both of the following conditions are met, the alarm stops and the system returns to Armed State (1).
·

After warning time of 27.5 seconds + warning waiting time of 5 seconds elapses.

·

The engine hood and back door were closed prior to the alarm condition.


Condition [10] One of the following conditions is met:
·

The engine hood is opened when the engine hood is closed.*1

·

Any door is opened when all doors are closed.

·

Any door is unlocked when all doors are locked not by wireless operation or entry operation.

·

When 5 seconds or more have elapsed since the power switch is pressed, the power source mode is changed from off to ON withoutpressing the power switch.*4

·

When 5 seconds or more have elapsed since the engine switch is pressed, the power source mode is changed from off to ON withoutpressing the engine switch. *5

·

The auxiliary battery is reconnected when the engine hood is open*1, any door is open or any door is unlocked.

·

Ignition switch ON.

·

After warning, engine hood remains open.

·

After warning, any door remains open.

·

After warning, ignition switch ON.


Condition [11] If both of the following conditions are met, the alarm stops and the system returns to Armed State (2).
·

After warning time of 27.5 seconds + warning waiting time of 5 seconds elapses.

·

The engine hood was opened or the back door was opened before the alarm condition.


Condition [12] One of the following conditions is met:
·

Any door is unlocked when all doors are locked.

·

Any door is opened.

·

The power switch is pushed.*4

·

The engine switch is pushed.*5

·

The ignition switch is turned ACC or ON.

·

The auxiliary battery is reconnected.

·

All doors are unlocked by wireless operation, entry operation or key linked power door lock operation*3.

·

During a close operation, the power back door reverses operation, stops partway or another door opens.*2


Condition [13] The system state switches when both of the following conditions are met:
·

The ignition switch is turned off.

·

During a power back door close operation with all other doors closed, the doors are locked (power back door reservation lock) by wireless operation or entry operation.*2


Condition [14] Perform reservation lock via wireless operation or smart operation during power back door close operation with engine hood closed.*2
Condition [15] Perform reservation lock via wireless operation or smart operation during power back door close operation with engine hood open.*2
Condition [16] Close engine hood.

*1: If close before auto alarm set or close during auto alarm set.

*3: This function is set through the customize function.

FORCED DOOR LOCK CONTROL


a.

The forced door lock control prevents the vehicle from being tampered with. Immediately after a door is unlocked (armed state), all doors are forced to lock by a forced door lock signal.

i.

If the following conditions are met, the forced door lock control is operated.

·

The theft deterrent system is in the armed state.

·

Any door is unlocked.





SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT OUTPUT


a.

According to the state of the theft deterrent system, the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) outputs a signal to turn the security indicator light on. However, some of the actual lighting conditions of the security indicator light are different from the output signals of the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).
