1.INSPECT CAM TIMING CONTROL MOTOR WITH EDU ASSEMBLY
Check Rotation Direction Signal:
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the power switch on (IG).
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / VVT-iE Motor Direction Bank 1.

According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List.

If the result is not as specified, inspect the cam timing control motor with EDU assembly and wire harness.
Check VVT Change Angle:
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the power switch on (IG).
Turn the GTS on.
Put the engine in Inspection Mode (Maintenance Mode).

Start the engine and warm it up until the engine coolant temperature reaches 75°C (167°F) or higher.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Control the VVT-iE Opening Angle Bank 1 / Data List / Intake VVT Change Angle Bank 1 and Intake VVT Target Angle Bank 1.

Read the Data List while performing the Active Test with the engine idling.
